That's a Starion in disguise, and I want it.

One week to go on the auction, let’s see how far it gets.

A guy I knew in college had a red one. It was a highly desirable car back then. Still is. I always thought the Conquest was better executed than the Starion.

As clean as it is I suspect it will draw a small fortune.
Granted it’s a Turbo D odge with 80's Mitsubishi reliability, so good luck to whomever buys it, but I still want it.

I met a guy here that restores Starions one at a time . They are cool, I would own one!

I don’t know, it’s in Minnesota which doesn’t really have a car culture besides the “back to the fifties” where the New Balance/hawaian shirt population gathers at the fairgrounds.
It’s far enough from MSP, where the locals are either farming boys drooling over turbo-diesel jacked up trucks, or college professors driving Volvo, Subies and PZEVs.
Not ironic enough for the hipsters from MSP ... You may have a chance !

The best Dodge Challenger was also a Mitsubishi (78-83), and is an ancestor to the Conquest/Starion

I wasn’t paying enough attention to where it was listed. Someone should @ the seller and give them a heads up about BaT. 60 grand.

Never rode in a Conquest, but I was a passenger in an Eagle Talon at 140mph once.

Minnesota definitely has more of a car culture than just back to the fifties.

My old Impulse’s ignition key said “I mported by Chrysler”. That crap can could never amount to the level of a conquest.

While the show is now gone, Eurowerks was a midwest establishment for the European car scene for many years.
Modern Automotive Performance hosts two Proving Grounds events at Brainerd International Raceway every year. Drag racing, road course, drifting, and autocross.
There’s numerous drift events at BIR, as well as at Elko speedway south of the metro.
Powercruise happens at BIR yearly. https://www.powercruise.com/usa/
In addition to Back to the 50s, there’s also Street Machines summer nats at the state fair grounds. Similar crowd to the 50's to be sure, but you’ll see everything from stanced (gross) hondas to 2000 hp drag cars.
Glacier Lakes Quattro club hosts numerous winter driving events (being MN it’s 11 months a year of winter), but also hosts track days at BIR.
If you follow the Gears and Gasoline folks on Youtube, their Evo was tuned and built by RS Motors, who are in MN. We also have DBPerformance in Rogers. MAP (huge online seller of automotive parts) is based here. Grimmspeed is based here (pretty well known Subaru parts company). We have a handful of enthusiast focused Euro shops including Further Performance, SCI, Imola Performance, Anderson Motorsports, and others.
The Crown Rally was started by people from here. https://www.crownrally.com/
There are numerous people who compete nationally in global time attack and gridlife who are based here - I actually sponsor one through my side business.
There are, just off the top of my head, local forums/groups for:
honda, nissan, toyota, subaru, vw, audi, bmw, there’s an exotics car club, saab, volvo, euros in general, etc. I’m sure there’s more.
MNCEC hosts several drives and events yearly. https://www.themncec.org/events-1
There are a ton of opportunities for car/automotive/vehicle enthusiasts of all stripes in Minnesota. :) I’m lucky that I know at least someone directly involved in each, if I’m not myself, but I’ve lived here most of my 33 years and have been involved in much of it.
